“China-European Art Dialogue”: a journey into Chinese art at Palazzo Coppini

On October 21 2024, Palazzo Coppini hosted a unique event: the traveling exhibition “China-European Art Dialogue: Chinese Painting Special Exhibition,” which brought Chinese art to Europe through the 24th delegation of the Chinese Academy of Painting and Calligraphy Culture. Curated by Alan Yu and Feihong Yu, the exhibition offered a fascinating insight into Chinese painting and calligraphy, featuring a selection of 20 paintings and 2 sculptures.

Each artwork told a unique story, representing various aspects of Chinese daily life. From traditions to festivals, from moments of work to those of leisure, the pieces painted a rich and vivid picture of Chinese culture. Among the exhibited works, two portraits of Paolo Del Bianco, Honorary President of the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation, were also included, testifying to the strong bond between cultures that the event aimed to celebrate.

The exhibition was not just an opportunity to admire art, but it also played a crucial role in strengthening cultural dialogue between Asia and Europe. This event recalled a previous meeting between Alan Yu and the Florentine audience in 2016 at the l’Auditorium al Duomo, when an exhibition was held featuring the painter Mr. Nie Weigu.

Another significant moment of the event was the donation of paintings to the Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation, a gesture that underlined the artists’ and delegation’s commitment to supporting cultural and social projects. The donation made the event even more special, serving as a bridge between different cultures and further strengthening the connection between East and West.

This exhibition had the power to transport participants on a journey into the heart of Chinese culture, promoting a global dialogue that continues to be a testament to the beauty of cultural diversity.
